Literature Text

I can look into the mirror,
and I can blame you.
I could say I love you, but I think everybody knows
I hate you more.

I'll call you names.
But then I boost you up, keeping up appearances.
You and me, one and the same,
we could argue all day.

When the sun comes up, streams through the shades
And fades across these wild hips,
the best thing I can wish for are frozen tides of darkness
in the wrinkles of a sheet.

I hate this body.
But more than that,
I hate who lives inside it.
